If your dog still goes into heat then the vet didn't get all the uterus. Even if a little piece is left, it will secret the hormone to cause the dog to go into heat and make your life miserable. If it happens, take the animal back to the vet who did the procedure. They will open her up and find the piece. Do it while she is still in heat, because the piece will be swollen from the hormones and easy to find and remove.

Spaying is the removal of the uterus and the ovaries. Therefore, heat periods no longer occur.

canines don't have a era.. they flow into warmth or into season. they often come into warmth appros 6-9 mos of age the 1st time, and then each and every 6 months after that til they are spayed.

No uterus = no period. Spaying is just a layman's term for ovariohysterectomy, meaning the dog's ovaries & uterus are both surgically removed.
