is the strictest sense of your question...NO!!

as far as i know, you can't DL DIRECTLY to "recordable" media disks...just ain't possible....BUT....

you can burn already DL'ed files to an R disk...Just a few things to know...

CD-R means you can ONLY burn ONCE to the disk (record once/playback-read many). So consider this...the average 4-5min song in MP3 format is somewhere between 5 to 12 MB, depending on the BITRATE it was ripped from the original source,sooooo...this means you can get a lot of MP3 songs on a 750meg disk.....Also...if you only use 50mb on the disk on the fist burn, and try to burn to the unused space later, the original 50mb section will be lost...

However, if your external player doesn't support the MP3 format, you will have to convert them to either CDA or WAV format before burning....the average 5mb MP3 file blows up to 50mb or so in WAV format...This means you can only get around 16 to 17 songs on a 750mb CD-R...if you have to convert, be sure you keep track of your MB total to be recorded, because if you go over the 750mb limit the entire disk will not play, and you've wasted a disk....

Yes. Mp3s are considered digital media or data files. Any burnable CD can hold data files. Just make sure you burn the CD as a data disc and not a multimedia or audio disc that is unless you plan on playing this CD on any CD player (especially ones that do not support mp3 technology). Then you'll have to convert the mp3 files to WAV or burn the CD as an audio disc (conversion of files done for you).

yes but you need a cd player that handles mp3 files. If not then you have to burn with software like windows media player to convert to standard audio cd format.

Yes. If your burner doesn't have "over burn" mode, you can only put 700 megs on it, though. Thats only about 80 min's. MY XYL does it all the time and then plays them in her car to and from work.
