My husband, who is an immigrant came here legally. He is declared a resident, can work here, and pays his taxes. If immigrants are willing to do things legally then stay. Welcome; get a job, pay taxes, and work towards becoming a citizen and getting all the privileges that citizens deserve. If you are not here legally then you need to be deported and stop demanding the rights of a citizen when you are NOT one! ! The problem is that there are too many illegal immigrants and since they have no paperwork they are not paying taxes, they are working "under the table" for cheap and no benefits. They are doing jobs that any teenager and struggling single mother would gladly do at a fair wage. As a teenager I cleaned toilets and scrubbed floors, I picked fruit. There is no job a single mother won't do if it means putting food on the table, but is only right to ask for a fair wage to do so. Illegals are paid at a cheaper rate so businesses can keep the profit and then some.

Not all immigrants should be deported...only those who are here illegally. Why??? because they don't legally belong here. For the same reason any other person committing a crime should face punishment, that is why. Do you really tolerate acts of crime being committed? I don't. If I get a speeding ticket...I am cool with it, i deserve the damn thing, that is my punishment for breaking the law. If you don't belong here, it really isn't a punishment, but you should be taken back to where you legally belong. And don't give me this crap about they are the only ones willing to do certain jobs...They are simply able to cut the employer a break because the employer doesn't have to pay with holdings (taxes) on their employment. They only cost the employer less money for that reason, they still request the same wage anyone else would take for doing the specific job.

The reason there are limits on how many poor immigrants can come legally is because even if they pay all taxes for their income groups, the middle class and wealthier pay the lion's share of their education, health care and other services. This makes it a great deal for poor people allowed to come, so the wait is long. However, it makes it very expensive for us. No one has a right to break in and use the services like education, draining funds and overburdening the systems so they no longer work properly for our people.

If there were only a few, you wouldn't hear about it. However, since this massive flood of illegals began coming here it has been a blatant change in education and health care quality in our border states, and a similarly huge culture change. One reason immigrants are limited is to allow them to be assimilated into the host culture. People who choose to live in a country shouldn't come unless they are willing to join the culture of that country. There has been such massive illegal immigration, however, that they have built entire communities where no need to learn English exists. They have also brought crime way disproportionate to their numbers.

These are not opinions, they are verifiable facts. We don't want any of this.

If you don't believe that 12+ million immigrants, primarily Mexicans should not be deported, you are not a true American and you should not be here. You should be deported along with them. Do you even know our Pledge of Allegiance? Do you know The Star Spangled Banner? Have you read our Constitution? Yeah, that's what I thought. If you are illegal, you are only here for the free ride. As far as jobs Americans won't do, that is a lie. This is where critical thinking comes in. I used to work jobs that paid nearly nothing. Don't tell me that we won't do it. That is a bald faced lie!

they do deport immigrants, not just illegal immigrants. I know some people with a valid green card who went overseas for business and were not allowed to enter US, they were denied and their green card were cancelled.
they do so with various explanations, eventhough not all is very humane in my opinion. in very general answer, few reasons are high criminal rate, low paying jobs which create lower class, non tax-payer which seems unfair to other americans who pays taxes everytime, and etc etc etc.
but thinking about it again, i really dont understand, americans came to this land through the same way, comparing to those immigrants, we were worse. we slaughtered the natives, and that is okay?
because there were no such thing as passport, visa and green card yet?
it is true that everybody wants to live a better life and that america offers a good opportunity. and it might be true that if those ppl with "lower education" migrated here will change american standard. But with or without them, everything will anyway evolve by time. we use to be once "a more religious country who believe in God". nowadays it is illegal in many ways.
This is a very complicated matter since it deals with numbers of people's life. I wont be so hasty to make any suggestions like to deport/not to deport. many of them has been here for so long and from what i know, there was no forgiveness for being illegal even if they were once legal. there was no path to citizenships once you are illegal.
Nobody is perfect, lets just do our best. if we would spent so much time, thought and money for people in Africa and tsunami victims, why cant we start here in this country. We dont know what brought them forth to this country. Some with good intentions, some with bad ones. everybody who live in this earth are all the same, we are all called human being. we all want a better life. dont punish them too hard.

In the 40's if you asked a woman to go work in a machine shop under extremely hot and dangerous conditions she would defiantly say NO. And at the same time if you asked her to learn to plow a Field or drive a semi you would get the same answer. These are examples of people who were "unwilling" to do a job that a man was doing. That is until Pearl harbor when millions of American men were shipped over seas and suddenly those same women who said no last week were doing the jobs i just described and more. While men were fighting the war it was American women who did the back breaking work of keeping this country going. This is a perfect example of America's willingness to see through the adversity of laborious work and keep our country where it belongs...at the top of the hill.

We've been doing those jobs for years (and some were good paying jobs)....Its the greedy bosses who are making the money...No offence to the immigrants, but they are getting screwed, too. The jobs pay the same or more, the workers are just not getting paid for it..That "doing the jobs that no body else wants to do" is pure Bull$hit....As far a deportation...if you are here legally, thats great...if not you are breaking the law and need to deal with it...

It's a paradox or catch 22.

The people are willing to do the jobs because no one will do them yes true but also because it is difficult to get other better jobs with out proper documents.

So... now they have proper documents.

Why would they want to do the job no one else wants to do when they can get better jobs?

So what then ...do we have more immigrants come in to fill on the "no one wants this job" position.

It's just a big mess.

There is no easy answer that will make everyone happy.

I do. And if you think I didn't work for $1 or would pick crops all day or clean crap off floors with my bare hands, you don't know me very well and all the millions of Americans like me.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ILLEGAL MAKING $1 AN HOUR OR CITIZENS HIDING ILLEGALS IN THERE HOMES TO WORK FOR THEM FOR $40 A WEEK.

THERE IS NO JOB AN AMERICAN WOULDN'T DO.

Please keep believing the lies - but don't ask me for sources, I will overwhelm you.

They shouldn't be here that's why! We managed just fine WITHOUT all these ILLEGAL MEXICANS. I didn't have to share my high school with a bunch of illegals. My parents didn't have to beg for a job because of illegal Mexicans willing to work for slave wage, just to TRY and steal OUR country. Many people are finally waking up. NOBODY will EVER change how I feel about this.
