Did your ever dread eating the edges of the bread on your sandwiches (PB&J, etc.)? And, did your parents ever tell you to eat it because it was the healthiest part of the bread? Wouldn't you think it was funny if your 6 year old told you that "it was chemically impossible for it to be the healthiest because all the nutrient were cooked out, and since it was burnt it was bad for her and she wasn't going to eat"?

Good one! We had to eat ours as it made your hair curly. I have curly hair and in my family, we used to fight over the heel or crust as we called it because we like it best. I guess it's true, it does make your hair curly.

did your 6yr old actually say it in that context? well, eventhough technically she is right...it still holds SOME nutrients. that and it helps hold in things in the sandwich because or the edges being more ridged, like when jame leaks out because the bread holds all the moisture and lets everything else ooze out. either way, id personally say she wouldnt have to eat the crust but the inside part is good (the actual bread itself) and possibly she got the info from someone to gewt you to not make her eat the crusts due to the fact there dry...if so, just get the bens exact sandwich bread, there crusts are always moist and easier to children for them to eat it. over all id be astonished, and ask where they heard it :P

Actually I am16 years old, and I still don't like eating the crust, but if ur six year old told u all of that then u have a very blessed child! You're child will be a scientist or something that has to deal with science and experiments. Take care of that child, and still make her play even when she wants to do experiments!!!

I usually wouldn't even eat sandwiches. They are bready and gross. I always ate rice and seaweed as a kid. And that 6 year old is probably right....

Yes.. I remember and I also was forced to... which lead me to cutting the crust off of my son's sandwiches.. no.. he never said that to me, though.. that is good.. My parents used to tell me that the burnt part was good for my teeth..

That wouldn't be funny, it would be creepy. I never really had a problem with the bread crust.
