If you're looking for a substitute for ground beef in recipes, try TVP.

This is Textured Vegetable Protein and can be found in natural food stores and some larger supermarkets.

It has quite a good texture and is versatile, picking up the flavor very well from the other ingredients in a dish.

Eat Bison from NorthStarBison.com if that site does not work type North Star Bison into a search engine! I agree with your boyfriend: do not eat any ordinary beef! The only beef I would ever put in my mouth is grass-fed beef....These days grain-fed beef is fed way more than you know and it is very bad for your health. Bison/Buffalo on the other hand from North Star(and BlackWing Meats) is grass fed and very lean and healthy for you! Not to mention it is absolutely delicious!!! No need to say "So Long" to burgers!!

Veggie burgers are easily intense protein stuffing. Bread crumbs, flour or rice + mashed beans, or TVP + chopped vegetables + egg or egg replacer. Spice on your liking. TVP stands for textured vegetable protein. it particularly is a soy product used in maximum commercial veggie burgers. All wellness food shops carry it.
