I am going buy a DVD recorder from Wal-Mart (Toronto),but they only offer 3-month manufacturer's warranty and customers are not allowed to purchase an extended warranty for the products. You know the lense is easy to get trouble(I have exprienced this ), so
(1).how did you get repaired when the warranty expire ?
(2).recently Wal-Mart has CMWR10D6 on sale ,only $120 before tax ,what do think of it ? I don't think it is cheap if this DVD recorder can use only 3 months when you are unlucky :)

You're right--if the extended warranty is important to you and it's not available where you are looking at the item, it's not cheap. If you are concerned about the longevity of the product, you are probably better off to pay a bit more somewhere else, where you have the option of purchasing an extended warranty!

Walmart will not carry good brands, if you want your DVD recorder to work more than 3 months, you should buy from a reputed store which give you extended warranty also and a good brand name.

Before you buy, you should probably call the maufacturer to find out the price of lens replacement and see what they suggest about repair after warranty expiration.

You'll have to take it to a repair agent and pay for it to be fixed...

Most manufacturers warranties are 12months... I wouldn't buy from a brand that doesn't instill confidence in the product they are making.. poor form on their behalf.

buy a new one or pay to get it fix.

i swear, there is like a little bomb that explodes as soon as the warranty expires.
