I agree that the "bad" people who run might deserve to be shot, there are circumstances that may not make it the right thing to do. Say if a certain person's father commits a crime. The police come to the door looking for that father, and that particular father's 25 year old son happens to have a mental disorder that causes paranoia and he runs because he doesn't know any better. The police shoot and kill the guy.... I couldn't say I would support that policy because there are too many what ifs and each of us only has one life. The person who was improperly killed has lost his life, and the cop who was following orders also has to deal with that killing forever hanging over his/her head.
A possibly unforseen side effect could also be that a given criminal would be more likely to start a gunfight because he knows he either will be taken to jail or killed if he runs.

Most people have that instinct, they are scared because of all the stuff about people getting framed recently and they run. Most of the time it is uneducated people, making the implementation of this law a racist act. I don't think anyone in American can say that if someone cam to there house asking about 911or Osama Bin Laden or a National Threat and they had a search warrant that they wouldn't be scared. Before you go asking insensitive questions, think about it.

What if they go to the wrong house, and the guy running out the back is just running from a jealous husband who he thinks is at the door?
What if the cop doesn't kill them? You want your taxes paying for somebody's paraplegia for the rest of their life?
Cops are not all that trustworthy. You would just create a whole bunch of killing for "running while black" or "running out the back", whichever is convenient for some gung-ho steroid-pumped minion of the law who is too paranoid to move to catch someone.
I would rather have a criminal get away and break into my house so I could shoot him there, then have the cops shoot me for chasing my mom's stray dog at night.

Cops can't shoot a person without just cause, meaning a threat of their own life or another persons life is in danger.
This does not apply to people who are incustody by a sherriffs department, they are considered a penal instution and can shoot anyone for running or escape from custody.

Well look at it this way: In America you are innocent until proven guilty. If the police shoot when someone runs you are presuming that person guilty. On the other hand, in Mexico, you are guilty until proven innocent. Maybe you should move to Mexico.

Depending on how serious the crime is it would be the proper thing to do. I am also sure it happens. If the warrant is for a crime of violence or A serious felony the police are authorized to use what ever it takes to serve said warrant.

those who're more effective hectic have a tendency to fall into conservatism, because its tenets verify their fears and its slender ideology calls for little self-mirrored image. All blame is directed in route of the different (even if foreigners or fellow individuals with differing beliefs) and the conservative human being is guaranteed that see you later as he keeps to believe, he himself is a good human being. that is plenty like non secular fundamentalism, and that is not any wonder that both frequently bypass jointly.

i thought that law was already in place. I have a few relatives in the force, either retired or still serving. but of course, both aunts were married seven times total. 5 with one, 2 with another.
