I like to wait a week before meeting someone new from an online dating service. I think it is a good idea to spend the time asking the right questions to weed out the bad ones but it seems like some guys are in a hurry to meet without knowing anything about me and not answering my questions. Whereas others are perpetual emailers who pop up and disappear for a month and show up again and we might chat for an hour or so but nothing ever becomes of it. How long should you talk to someone online before meeting? I think it is better no to take too much time before you meet because when you meet the person you may realize you wasted too much time on them.

Get their name and do a check on them in one of these sites to find some info on them:
They could always be lying about their name but at least you can check it out.

There is really not an answer for that because whether or not you feel comfortable you are always putting your life in danger.
