There're not a bargin for the American taxpayers.Illegal alien workers may increase profits for employers, but they are costly to the American taxpayer. Most illegal aliens have low educational attainment, few skills, and they work for low wages, often in the underground economy where they pay no taxes on their earnings. Since about three million illegal aliens gained legal status in the amnesty of 1986, the flow of illegal immigration has increased, and today that population is estimated at 9-11 million illegal alien residents in the country. The former Immigration and Naturalization Service estimated that the illegal alien population was increasing by about half a million aliens per year in 2000.

Because the number of illegal aliens can only be estimated, similarly the fiscal cost (government budget outlays) for those aliens can only be estimated. Dr. Donald Huddle, a Rice University economics professor, published a systematic analysis of those costs as of 1996. The study also estimated the tax payments of those same aliens.

At that time, the illegal alien population was estimated to be about five million persons. The estimated fiscal cost of those illegal aliens to the federal, state and local governments was about $33 billion. This impact was partially offset by an estimated $12.6 billion in taxes paid to the federal, state and local governments, resulting in a net cost to the American taxpayer of about $20 billion every year. This estimate did not include indirect costs that result from unemployment payments to Americans who lost their jobs to illegal aliens willing to work for lower wages. Nor did it include lost tax collections from those American workers who became unemployed. The study estimated those indirect costs from illegal immigration at an additional $4.3 billion annually.

Still think we're getting a bargin?

Wow I read only half , as I thought I'd get cut off the computer .The laws need to change , but 3-5 years for a 18 year old legs ? USA has many cases of Americans getting off on probation and the list may be equal to illegal aliens .This is exactly why we have so much crime , not only aliens but Americans as well .Life sentence can be 5 years with good behavior , a state paid lawyer ,It doesn't matter what race the killer is or where the killer lived or runs to .A lose for the family never ends ! If you killed someone by accident of carelessness , life should be life ! If you cold blooded murdered your life should be taken . Loop Holes in our laws and lawyers protecting and trying to get free someone they KNOW has done it , what a shame ! May I add I am sorry if anyone of them were family or friends of anyone reading this . An American shot a kid , killed the boy .He was 17 , he did 10 years , now he feels jail destroyed his life ? He received Free college , had family visits and a higher paying job than I do .And I never was arrested ? He is a Free American today , with a nice car , family , etc.,. It's not all Mexico people !

Yes. For the companies to cheap to pay us Americans a decent wage, benefits included. So your point is all illegal immigrants are cold-blooded murderers right? No American would ever do such a thing, right? Oh please ! How come every time I get a notice that a pedophile has been released from prison because he's been "rehabilitated" (yeah right). It's not referring to a Latino at all?

Wow ..that was a really tough read. That one story about how a pregnant woman fell, but two illegals thought they had hit her while pulling away, and because they were fearful of being deported and didn't want to leave witnesses they got out of their truck and shot her to death while she laid on the ground was gut wrenching. All of these criminals had at least one thing in common....they were ALL illegal aliens. Sad, but excellent post. nice job.

What should happen to all the American citizens that do the same things?American citizens also collect more welfare and "social benefits".What should happen to them,"scorpion"?

No, they are not a bargain. They are a nuisance and they are disrespectful and flagrant about it. As I have said before, they start out being criminals the second their stinking asses cross the border. Why would they respect any other laws here?
