its temporary "weight loss"
since its all water weight you are losing--
you want to sweat because of cardiovascular activity or weight lifting or some other form of exercise--otherwise it's not fat loss, but just water loss--which you'll regain right back after drinking some water

Yes, you lose weight but not bodyfat. Sweating causes you to sweat out salt and so you retain less water and lose retained water. See "anti-water" for more on this on below site. You do not gain it back when you drink water. You will gain it back when you consume a lot of salt.
First it is not totally your fault that you are overweight since our society's way of eating that is making people fat is a pandemic (epidemic) that is getting worse. Atlantic Monthly magazine says that it has just become the #1 health problem in the world replacing hunger and infectious disease.
So you need to take the time to read everything on the site below under "exercise" and "diet" to re-learn everything over again. Do this and you can become thin. Do this not and you will still have what you have now.
You will learn about fastest ways to lose weight (enemas and fasting), how to flatten your belly before an event (losing 5 to 20 pounds) and slower ways to lose bodyfat, retained water and a 3rd thing. Pick what is most appropriate for you.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Yes, but its not the right kind of weight. Its like using the restroom, you just lost weight, but did you really lose weight? No. No shortcuts in losing weight. Don't listen to any fads, do what worked 10 years ago and still does, believe it or not. Diet and exercise.

sweating doesnt make you lose weight, its your body's mechanism to cool itself....i do think that sleeping on a heating pad could in theory increase your resting metabolism thereby burning some calories. as long as you hydrate before going to sleep and after waking then i dont see the harm in trying.

Any loss of body fluid will cause weight loss, but you must 'rehydrate' your body by drinking water in order to be healthful. Don't rely on sweating as a diet plan.
