Wzup Drunkmofo (lol) , use a small can of tomato paste (thicker than sauce) and, if U aren't opposed a store bought BBQ that you think has a good flavor (KC Masterpiece) Then add whatever you think your base needs more of, like you'd definitely want liquid smoke if you like smokey. other things 2 try might be coke or beer, meat tenderizer, ceyenne pepper (hoo-ah) onion & garlic powder, even honey and/or cinnamon, but don't do sweet and smokey on the same sauce. save sweet for another night over the coals. bon apetite!

If you like spicy food, try using a can of Chipotle chili peppers in adobo. They're whole peppers, so you have to put them in the blender with the rest of your bbq sauce.
Chipotle chilis are jalapeno peppers which have been smoked, so they add quite a good smoky flavor (and a nice kick of heat!).

You might want to use a tomato sauce base, some liquid smoke, a touch of yellow mustard, cilantro and garlic.

Ketchup!!!!!!!!! That is what my grandmother used and that's what I use for homemade BBQ sauce. I'd give you the recipe but it's a family secret.
