Diabetes is characterized by some of the following: Blood sugars outside of 80 - 110, dry mouth, increased thirst, shakiness, blurred vision, altered mental status, speech impairments, lethargy, tires easily, excessive urination/ especially at night.
Cancer symptoms vary with the type of cancers.
Cancer is a disease process in which unhealthy cancerous cells/ cells that have not function other than reproducing, replace healthy cells. So the cancer cell will not do the function that you need, such as an unhealthy cancerous lung cell will not exchange oxygen, so you get short of breath, When your short of breath, you will cough, this is your bodies attempt to get more air.
Skin cancer: moles that change color/ appearance/ edges change/ irregular edges/ moles that sink are very dangerous and need to be checked out immediately, as they may be metastasizing. Skin changes, get thick or thin, the elastic in the skin alters.
Lung cancer: dry, non productive cough, hacking cough. shortness of breath. tires easily.

Diabetes is easier to find out about than cancer. You can have your doctor check your fasting blood glucose level or do an oral glucose tolerance test to find out. But first, check to see if you have the symptoms listed on the website I've provided. Cancer is much more broad... You can't really just do a broad test for cancer. It is more likely found when doing a biopsy of a strange lump or something that is out of the ordinary.

Diabetes is initially diagnosed by obtaining a drop of blood from your finger, the doing further screening if that is positive, many hospitals offer free diabetic testing.
cancer is diagnosed by site in some cases like skin cancer, and by x-ray, CT scan, and MRI
finally by biopsy of the lesion

If you are concerned you need to got to your doctor and have some simple tests ran. And if they find anything alarming they will test what they need to. But don't put it off if you are having some kind of symptoms of diabetes or cancer. The sooner you confront it the better.. Best wishes......

Do you have any symptoms? If you do, consult your doctor. If you have none, please do not waste your life looking for illnesses that do not exist.
