hmm...what type(s) of place(s) are you looking for?

every bar in the french quarter and most in uptown NO are open at least until 3 or 4:00 a.m.

rue de la course (coffee shop) is open in uptown - not sure how late, but at least midnight - sorry. i think puccino's on magazine is open until 2:00am.

other than that - most things are closing really early... but add more info as to the types of places you're interested in and i'll try to come up w/ more specifics..

In New Orleans most all bars are open 24/7. I just came back from NO's last week. The city is like a ghost town. Only families with children. Bourbon is not as crowded and seems safer. The city has changed. For the better :)

Not sure. Bourbon Street is the best "party" place in New Orleans. However, since Hurricane Katrina came to visit, I am not sure exactly how much "safer" it is there. From what I can see on the news, I am not one you will see there. If you do go, watch yourself. Some people have no regard for life.
