okay so when i run i lose my breath but my legs arents tired. i am bound and determined to start running regularly. my goal is to run for 30 minutes. it sounds retarded but i cant breathe right when i run so my chest will end up kind of hurting when i take a breath in. if anyone can help me i would appreicate it.

it's not retarded, it happens a lot. the reason for it is that most people assume that the faster you run, the faster you breathe, because their heart is beating faster

when in fact, your heart does not dictate how much air you need.

they're two separate things

synchronize your breathing with your steps, space it up, for every two steps inhale, two steps exhale

as you gain proficiency and comfortable, space it up further

last tip, try not to bounce when running. keep it level as if you're gliding smoothly over the ground, but you probably know that already

try timing your breath. In for two steps, out for two steps. That way its always controled. It takes a lot less effort to do it this way and your actually thinking about how much your chest is expanding, which may help. Sometimes I even go for three breaths.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I took yoga and Pilates for about 3 weeks, which really helped control my breathing, which should help the next time you run.

breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth
