Martin Luther’s heresy of Sola Scriptura destroyed the unity of the Christian faith in the western world. Under Protestantism, man replaced God as the judge of all that was holy and moral.
Christ is King, every king must possess a kingdom over which he governs. In the case of Our Lord Jesus Christ, this kingdom was Christendom–at least until Protestantism shattered it into pieces. This in turn opened the door to secularism and an aggressive homosexual agenda.
It is Protestantism that uncrowned Christ as King.

Schneb: there is nothing wrong with indulgences. The people in purgatory can go to heaven with our help. purgatory is finished at the second coming. everyone goes to heaven. No one can be bought out of hell. People in hell are there forever.

The Catholic Church existed 1,500 years before Luther. It was the will of God. It is the original Church of Christ.

Who did more damage, a monk that said we should do what God said or a drunken church that says follow me? Hard call huh?

As a christian, I cannot cast judgment on anyone. I believe that we all have a responsibility to follow the teachings of Jesus the Christ. What someone Else's views are is their own. My faith is Christianity and how I practice that faith is between me and my God. As far a Martin Luther, I do agree with his not liking the selling of indulgences for the coffers of Rome and I respect his standing up for his beliefs. The change that came about would not have come if the time was not right. So whether is was him or someone else, the church would have eventually lost its hold on people. But the bottom line is, God's word has not been changed and no matter how we interpret it; it is still His.

Wait, what? Protestantism uncrowning Christ as King? What? Protestantism gives MUCH more attention to a relationship with Jesus than Catholicism. Catholicism puts more emphasis on its traditions (of man) rather than the Bible (of God), so who is decrowning who? The Catholics are decrowning God because they put their traditions on equal footings (and sometimes greater than) with God's Word.
Jesus Christ was not happy with the Pharisees, who put their traditions on equal footings (and sometimes greater than) with God's Word. Jesus Christ would not be happy with what the Catholics have done, but yet, as long as a Catholic person believes and has confessed that Jesus is Lord and that He is risen by God, that He is the Savior, the Catholic person will be saved regardless.
EDIT: By the way, the Catholic church as we know it nowadays was actually the Roman Catholic church, which started about three to four centuries after the first churches sprang up, and we have a sneak peek at some of those first churches (which did not show any signs of Catholic traditions) through the Pauline Epistles and the rest of the New Testaments. Most of the Catholic traditions are in stark contrast to what the Bible teaches; for instance - infant baptism, prayer to Mary and other saints (who cannot hear you, since no one is omnipresent or omniscient), and the Rosary.

Under Protestantism, the pope was replaced by God as the ultimate judge of peoples souls. Christ is still king over all Christendom, but Christendom does not have to be a single sect. I do not think the bible even states how christens should organize. Christ didn't say anything about a mortal realm, Christs realm is a spiritual one that does not depend on a man made hierarchy

Martin Luther's protest brought me personally closer to the truth. The God I know wants me to be close to Him, not to have to go through a middleman to get to Him. There are many things in the Catholic church that would stand between me and a personal relationship with Christ, which is why I'm not a Catholic. Yes, Christ is King. He still governs Christianity as a whole, no matter how many denominations there are. I think the different denominations make it so that more people are a part of his kingdom. The opportunity to surround oneself with like-minded people in fellowship and worship make the church more accessible and more likely to grow the way God wants it to.

Oh, come on. Have you forgotten the Eastern church? That split happened centuries before Luther, for much the same reason- the Pope was adding heretical things to the Christian faith that had no business being there. Protestants have shown more devotion to Christ than you seem to think, and I'm not going to insult Catholics by saying they don't also. But I'll say without hesitation that in 1520 the Pope and many of the cardinals despised the church of God and used it for their own purposes and desires.

O ye of little faith- Have you already conceded that Christ is no longer King? What a sham you are. I think you are a homophobic nimrod for asking such a ridiculous question. How dare you commit one of the seven deadly sins (pride) and assume that your style of Christianity is better than someone else's.
The Church at the time of Luther was riddled with corruption and injustice- the selling of indemnities being the most blatant betrayal of faith. Luther stood up and said he wasn't going to take it anymore.
I don't consider myself to be particularly devout, but seeinng a loaded, hateful question like this makes me feel bad for anyone who considers themselves Christian.

I think you need a history lesson. Do you actually believe that one man can sit on his throne and make a judgement on a truth of reality and that his statement is automaticallly correct by virtue of his office? That would be like the supreme court bsaying water is dry BECAUSE WE SAY SO. This was the OBVIOUS heresy Luther helped to destroy, and this heresy took Christ off His throne qand put a man upon it.

I don't tell very many Catholics about this, but you seem to really be struggling with religious identity...
Look up 2 Peter 1:19, first in the KJV Bible, then, in the Roman Latin Vulgate(you can find it online). Don't let the Latin scare you, you'll know what it says....you'll know.
Then look up Chick Publications and read about Mr. Chick(a priest who lived in the Vatican during WWII)
Then read, "50 years in the church of Rome"
Then read the History of the Jesuits.
These are true documentaries, and will not be easy to swallow, but you NEED to.

You need to release yourself from the clutches of ignorance. I agree, that many conservative Protestants are very self-righteous and ignorant, but pre-Reformation was not a time of "unity" either. All religions will have break-offs. And secular government is what has kept this country alive for low these past 230 years. Don't blame all your problems on the other guy, you judgemental hypocrite.
Matthew, Chapter 7
(it's not my place to decide what is right for you, but I THINK you would benefit greatly from this Chapter)
Good luck, and GBWY.

Many Protestants like myself acknowledge Christ as King.
The Vatican was distoring how to get to Heaven, you cannot buy your way into Heaven, there is no Purgatory.
The saved go to Heaven and the damned go to Hell, there is no Purgatory that you can pay money to get people out of.
Think before you say something.
I go to Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and we are opposed to Homosexuality big time.
