My son is 5 and 1/2 - when will he lose his first tooth?

I agree with the people above, but I wanted to add one thing...
Pay attention, because your son will also be getting his first permanent teeth pretty soon. Watch for his 6-year molars. They'll be popping up, and now is the most important time for you to teach your son excellent oral hygiene. He's going to be getting a lot of permanent teeth in the coming years, and if he gets into good habits now, they'll benefit him for the rest of his life...

He'll lose his first tooth around age 6. It will be his front teeth on bottom. If you take your finger and wiggle the front lower centrals shey'll probably be just a little bit wiggly. I've seen kids who didn't lose any teeth until age 7. They're still in the normal range. Don't worry, everything will come out like it should.

It will be soon, my son is 6 and lost his first tooth this year and others are getting ready to come out as well. So it will be soon.

My oldest child lost her first tooth at 4 1/2, my second child is now almost six and she hasn't lost her first tooth yet. Don't worry. He'll be eating an apple or corn on the cob and start yelling for you. He's right on track.

it varies from the child you have they may have a strong bone structure which will keep them strong, i wouldn't worry about anything yet. the teeth will fall out when they feel ready, however if your child complains of pain in his mouth get him to the dentist the new tooth could be growing through when the other one is not ready to come out. i didnt lose a tooth till i was 7 years old, good look

They tell us that the first tooth is lost around 6-7 years old. But of course this can vary from person to person.
