No, not true.

The Bible says that I can know because His Spirit bears witness with my spirit....

I didn't understand this until I backslid, my sins were 7 times worse just like His Word said, and Satan kept me bound by guilt, just like His Word said, and then I repented once more and He forgave me again just like His Word said...

BUT!!! I knew in my spirit during that time of backsliding that God was not there, and I knew that if He came for me, I wasn't going to be making it to heaven...

And NEVER believe the falsehood that you can stand and repent on Judgement Day. God's Word says It's Judgement Day not "Common PLea's Day". You will go before God to be judged, not to defend yourself. The only defense you recieve is from Jesus, He will stand to defend that His Blood is covering you, but if you deny Him, He will deny you, He said so....

Matthew 10:22 -- "...but he who hath endured to the end, he SHALL BE saved." (also: Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13)

Since "the end is not yet," and only God knows the future, no, no one can know that they are saved, because no one has been saved yet.

{Some have deceived themselves by taking a single Scripture that seems to say that salvation is only a matter of a single confession, and they ignore all the other Scriptures that say they need to repent and keep the commandments (Matthew 19:17, John 14:15, 21, I Corinthians 7:19, I Timothy 6:13-14, I John 2:3-4, 3:22, 24, I John 5:2-3, Revelation 12:17, 14:12). If a single confession were all that were necessary, then Scriptures that say a person can lose their salvation would not make sense. If that single confession were all there was to it, God would surely end up with a whole lot of hypocrites in his Kingdom.}

Being saved is knowing the beauty of god in your time here on earth. Every step you make and every breath you take is a testament to your beliefs. You will head in the direction that you are looking and you will get good at what you practice at. If you wish to change your life you must change where you look and change what you practice. God is attempting to show you the beauty of life in every moment that you choose to look at the beauty. If you look constantly at wondering, you will continue to wonder. Instead, take possession of the thought that you are saved and act accordingly. Do not preach with words that you are saved, but demonstrate with your actions. Those who talk about it the most, do it the least. Save yourself with the belief your are worth saving and then prove it to yourself and god with your actions. Why wait when you can have it now by acting like you are worthy and then becoming so by doing.

It's true. You hope that you lived your life as a Christian to the best of your ability by loving God, following his commandments, and repenting of sin. God is Just and True, you trust in his mercy. God knows at judgment where you belong.

Don't listen to those that say that by just believing in Jesus, you are saved. Can you be saved if you commit adultery? How about Murder? without repenting because you are saved? of coarse not! It is convenient to believe you are already saved because you don't have to do anything. you don't need faith or love.

If we learn the Gospel and LIVE the Gospel, we can have a real good idea of whether or not we are getting to Heaven. But we won't know for sure until the ONLY Judge, Jesus, tells us so.

Consider a science fair: A student works on a science project for a competition. If he does the research and does a good job building the project, he can be pretty confident that he is going to get the blue ribbon, but he wont know for sure until his exhibit gets judged.

Such it is with getting to Heaven. We have to learn the Gospel (Faith) and LIVE the Gospel (works). After we have been called from this life, our life be judged.

Judged by Who? Jesus, since He is the ONLY Judge. (James 4:12)

Judge of what? Of whether we go to Hevean or Hell for eternity. (Matthew 25:31-46)

When someone says Jesus is my Lord so "I'm saved", they are really saying Jesus is my Lord and "I'm going to Heaven". These people have been misled to believe that THEY can Judge themselves... they can't.

There is only ONE Judge, Jesus.

Salvation (getting to Heaven) is a process not a one-time event and MANY people are being misled.

Simply calling Jesus 'Lord' is NOT all there is too it, or was Jesus lying when He said:

(Matthew 7:21) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

Also, Jesus tells us: "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matt 7:13)

It's easy to say one time "I'm saved. I'm going to Heaven." (the wide gate).

It's much harder to learn the Gospel AND live the Gospel every day. (the narrow gate).

Paul calls salvation a "race". A race is a continuous process. Whether you win or lose the race is determined by the official at the end of the course.

(1 Cor 9: 24-25) "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

And he tells the Galations that they have gone off course:

(Gal 5:7-8) "You WERE running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you"

Paul shows his confidence of being Judged worthy of Heaven when he talks about his own "race":

(2 Tim 4:7-8) "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day."

Does Paul say, "I grabbed the crown and have it in my hand"? NO!, he says Jesus will give Him the crown ON THAT DAY.

Bottom line. If we learn the Gospel (Faith) and LIVE the Gospel (works), we can be confident that we will get to Heaven. But we won't know for sure until the ONLY Judge, Jesus, gives us the crown "on that day"... what day? Our day of Judgement.

I disagree with this. I believe that if you ask Jesus to be your savior and repent of your sins and ask forgiveness and then try to live your live in a Christ-like manner that you are saved and that you are promised the glory land. Notice I said "try" to live a Christ-like life. You nor I will ever be able to live up to Christ's example, that is why He died on the cross for us. God knew that we would fall short. Jesus died to pay for our sins so that we don't HAVE to. We are saved by grace. Some may CHOOSE to pay for their sins by not accepting Jesus into their lives, but they don't HAVE to. Jesus died on the cross especially for you. He wanted you to be forgiven and not be punished for you sins. All you have to do is accept that to be true, repent and live the best Christ-like life that you can and the day you die Jesus will cry tears of joy, because the person that He died to save has come home to Him.

I have committed my life to God for 8 years and went to college to study the bible for 2 years, and never came across this one. this question makes me analyze myself, and ask myself if I know I am saved. I cannot speak for anyone else but, I KNOW I gave my life to God, I KNOW I have a relationship with God, but to have factual evidence, or proof that I KNOW , aahhmmm, I think I'll let God be the Judge. According to the bible, to confess with your mouth, Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and truly, honestly, believe in your heart then you are saved. according to that I know I am saved. Outside of that, well, I guess I don't KNOW. Good Question.

It's by Faith that we are saved. I don't believe that we can make a "death bed" confession of Faith and ask God for Forgiveness and we will be Saved, etc. If that were true then Satan could be Saved by asking God's forgiveness... and in my opinion that is not going to happen.

God is God and can chose to do whatever he chooses. It is by His Mercy and His Grace that we are Saved. Have Faith and Believe........

You are saved the moment you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. When a Christian stands before God it is to see what rewards they will get for the lives they led. Its not for Judgement.

Absolutely, positively false!

1John 5:13
"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."

Romans 10:9
"...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved."
