Well, it'd be better of course if he did it in person, that'd be the best course of action, but if you are concerned about whether he meant it or not, he wouldn't say it if he didn't.

the first time my boyfriend told me he loved me was through a text message and I almost choked. I was smiling non stop for hours. It is still romantic no matter how or when it is said.

Yeah, it probably means he's workin up to saying it in your presence, you know, wondering how you are going to react on the phone before he thinks he may personally. Take what he is offering, at least he didn't say, " I think you have straight teeth", or something stupid as we man are proned to do.

i think that depend son you if it felt true and meaningfull to you then isnt that enough for you, i dont think you should worry about what others may think when you tell them the story because it doesnt really matter what think, maybe that as the only way he could tell you but i would encourage him to tell in person in the future
