I am a White American. I have had friends from various cultures/races throughout my life (ie White,Black,Indian, various Asian and Mexican)because I respected their work-ethic, morality, etc. I love Mexico and encourage others to go there(check my Yahoo Answers)regularly.I am not "threatened" by immigrants and agree America needs immigrants to fill jobs in our economy. As other immigrants and American citizens, I agree most illegals work extremely hard.I am, however, against illegal immigration. Not that I think illegal Latinos mean any harm to Americans but America's enemies can find our borders easy to penetrate and I think both borders need to be secured.I also believe rampant illegal immigration is a drain on services paid from taxes of citizens and legal immigrants;in addition I feel uncontrolled immigration leads to lower wages/lack of jobs/etc for those legally in the US.I also think the US has the most liberal immigration policy and is more culturaly diversre than anywhere else.

dahumu please respond again. I am from one of those MidWestern states(Michigan) and white. I have worked many jobs, including long hours doing tedious factory work- I admit I'm white, middle class and unemployed-and would happily do similar work now. One of my best (white)friends has made a career working long tedious hours doing landscaping(right along with his illegal co-workers). History has taught me that every race/culture has waged war over political, social, religious, racial conflicts and "massacared" others for resources, although I guess whites had better technology to do so. Despite my unemployment, I still welcome legal immigrants to come here to compete for/fill jobs. Again I have friends from various cultures(including Mexico). I do see our porous borders as a security threat and see "illegal" immigration as having negative effects on the US economy, government services and taxpayers. Please show why my economic reasons for being against illegal immigration are invalid.

I agree with you 100%. It makes us racist because throwing the race card is the easiest way for someone who has a differance of oppinion, to shut you up. If you dissagree with someone of a different race, then calling you racist is the fastest way for them to win the argument whether they are right or not. Because I am white, just agreeing with you makes me racist. (even though my best friend is black and my girlfriend is asian) the great american hipocracy.

It doesn't make you racist. It makes you a proud American. Most countries would not put up with the illegal aliens as we have. And a big part of the reason we do is because politicians (and others) fear being called racist. It's so stupid. It doesn't make you racist. I don't care if you're from the same background as me or completely different. As long as you are here legally and not sucking up my tax dollars or destroying my neighborhood...I could care less where you're from or what race you are.

Being against illegal immigration doesn't make you a racist, it makes you sensible. People who cry racism are ignorant. They can't distinguish between immigration and illegal immigration, and they don't want to learn the difference either.

Hey, look at the polls which group of people is most against "illegal immigration". It's the white hicks from the midwest redneck states, who are racist. They don't even no why their against it, probably because "mexicans" are taking over. Open your eyes! Their ancestors basically came over here masscaring groups of people and they want it all for themselves. Greedy! We would be nothing without them! I wanna see these rich caucausians taking these long labor jobs. Let's see em.
