Can i get a much higher salary in Thailand? US$ 1000 or higher (permanent position) ?

Depends on your qualifications. Currently I am making about $900 as a teacher. The norm is $700 to 750 if you have a BA degree and experience.

What is your nationality?. I hate to say this. I am only trying to help so take no offense to this. The Thais discriminate against the Phillipinos...its a known fact unfortunately. So they will probably pay less if you are. Although it depends on the employer if they discriminate or not.

Unless you have special skills, a company that will employ you there or plan on teaching English, it is VERY hard to get a work permit in Thailand. Their Government has a list of jobs that under no circumstances can be done be foreigners.

Depends on your qualification and the job you get. Average Thai is earning about US$500, but with the low cost of living, this is manageable there.
