I wouldn't uninstall IE, because there are a *few* websites that actually require it. Just install Firefox and set it as your default browser (you'll have the option of doing this during the install process). Then you'll never see IE unless you need to use it to open certain sites. Firefox even has an extension you can download called "IE View" that always opens certain sites in IE instead of Firefox.

No, you need to leave IE installed. You can download Firefox and just set it as your default homepage. I use Firefox all the time and it works so much better than IE. I have had no problems with Firefox. However, there are some pages out there that will insist you use IE only to access those pages so for that reason, you need to leave IE alone.

Technically speaking... yes. But I wouldn't. What you can do is set Firefox as your default and do most of your work within Firefox. Use IE only when necessary. Believe it or not, you do NEED IE for some tasks such as navigating a majority of Microsoft websites, Firefox will not work. If you do updates manually then you need IE to go to Microsoft Update (Firefox will not work). If you use Windows Live, you need IE (Firefox does not support all the features). And so on. So you still need IE but only for Microsoft stuff, it's important enough to keep IE around. Just let it sit there until you need it.

You will still NEED IE if you like it or not since some sites and applications will require you to have IE in order to function properly. I suggest having both. I use Firefox for 99% of my surfing and IE is just there as a backup. BTW Firefox, IMO, is the best and cleanest browser there is, not to mention that you can change the themes to suite your preference.

I wouldn't uninstall IE as some web sites only really work properly with it. I use Firefox as my primary browser all the time and rarely have to use IE but it's useful to have it just in case.

You won't want to uninstall IE, even if you don't like it will still want to keep it, so if firefox crashes you still have the internet. Just download firefox and use that, but don't uninstall IE!

You don't need to uninstall it, just stop using it. What you have to do when Mozilla asks, is to set it as default browser. Be aware that if you're using Messenger, and want to check Hotmail, Messenger chooses IE anyway. But that's not a big problem. If you want to uninstall it altogether, go to Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs- Tab on the left Add Remove Windows Components- Uncheck IE, and hit next.
Good luck!

Don't uninstall IE because you will eventually need it to view something at sometime. Just remove it from your desktop if the icon bothers you. I use Mozilla 95% of the time because it doesn't cause as many problems as IE. There are times when Mozilla does not do something with some software and I have to open IE and cut and paste the url and it works.
Just my two cents.

You can't uninstall IE (to my knowledge). Microsoft is picky about that, windows won't let you do that. So just go ahead and install firefox. Nothing bad will happen. I have FF on my PC with IE on it and it works just fine.
