You DO, but whether you SHOULD is another matter!

Unfortunately, love isn't all you need. Love doesn't pay the bills and love doesn't get you through anything and everything. The truth is, you can fall in love with anyone if you work at it. Love is a choice. And if it's unhealthy for you, it's a bad choice, and probably not genuine love and respect but rather a crippling infatuation or needy dependence mistaken for love...

So if you have in fact recognized that loving a certain someone is unhealthy for you, and it's not a relationship bound in holy matrimony, I would suggest choosing to move on.

If it's a marriage, that's a whole other story, and you wake up choosing to continue to love that person and resolve what's unhealthy.

But I would need more details :)

Yes, I believe that there are times that you do. I can only speak from experience with a friend and not a partner. We have been friends for 19 years and there are times when she's very unhealthy for my state of mind and for our relationship. My husband and parents are upset that after about 4 years, we are talking and being friends again. I have kept it very superficial, and I have put my family first, but we will be friends again. Hopefully, she will grow up and make healthier decisions in her life and we won't ever have this happen again. This is the 2nd or 3rd time in 19 years.

unhealthy relationships do not get better, don't ever discount that fact. Love will blind you, but it doesn't change the situation.

Being with someone that is "unhealthy" for you really isn't cool. You have to make sure that the person compliments you in all aspects of the relationship. My ex-husband was "unhealthy" for me in that he liked to beat up on me.....You have to take care of YOU!

You should never discount unhealthy relationships; they can take a tremendous toll on your emotions and mental health in general.

If they are in fact unhealthy for you.. then you need to end that relationship.. real relationships that last are very good for you.. not unhealthy in anyway.

No you do not, you ALWAYS put your own health first. If you are not healthy yourself how will you ever be able to care and love someone else. Did you know that you can become seriously ill yourself in a toxic relationship. There is someone out there for you who will not treat you like this, you do deserve better.

Depends on what you class as unhealthy? Physical violence or emotional abuse I say pack your bags and run for the hills as fast as you can, Treated like your a bag of dirt Run for the hills!

Just not getting enough emotionally from you man or woamn? Talk to them and seek counselling.

you should tell them how you feel about the whole 'i love u but u would pull me into a hole' thing. dont try to change them, but explain what would be wrong, what could go wrong, and how unhealthy it could be. and if theyre willing to make a couple changes for the sake of your love then all signs are a go. but if they cant then maybe you should let them sink by themselves. if they cant handle a couple changes to make both of your lives better, u probably dont need to be with them, and they probably dont really love you. best wishes.
