Just wondering if anyone out there has attempted to make Roman Shades, and how difficult they were to make/sew? If so, were you pleased with the results? Thanks for the help!

Simple. Go to your fabric store, buy your fabric (or use one you have), and they have fabric strips with the rings already on it . (buy 3xs the length of your fabric). You can also get the string for them there. Sew the top of the fabric leaving a tube big enough to hold your curtain rod, then hem fabric to correct length for your window. sew the ringed strips (cut into thirds) from top to bottom about an inch from each end and down center. Knot the end of string and run it up the first row of rings and across the top rings to one side. Do this on each row until you hav three strings together on one side. With shade fully down, braid strings together, knot and cut to desired length. And there you have it. For a different look you can put more lengths of rings in just be sure to space them equally across the fabric.
Personally I like the look you get with five rows. But each person is different. If you aren't sure, take large rubberbands and slip them at equal intervals across gathered fabric after you have hemmed and hung it. When you like the look put that many rows of rings in.
