Honey: Is your question (Why are people so mean and stupid when they answer these questions?)
One reason could be because they think the ask-er is being sarcastic in asking the question.
Two, Maybe they are not sure what the ask-er is asking..IE. ask-er not using proper English!
Three. They may or may not think their answer is stupid, They may think the question is stupid.
Four. Some people are just plain mean.
Five. Some people just want 2 quick points, though for the life of me, I can't understand why!
Six. Not all people are mean and stupid when they answer these questions. I personally try to help the person asking the question.

SO.... Here is my advice to you.
Use proper English and good grammar when you ask a question.
If you think people may not take you seriously, say so in the question. Let the advice you get be like diamonds in the sand.
Scoop up the sand and let it sift through your hands, only keeping the good advice like you would the diamonds.

It depends on several factors...

1. How the person words their question.
2. Sarcasm that the questioner doesn't understand.
3. People answering just for the 2 points.
4. People are just mean and stupid!

Some of the questions just don't always seem appropriate based on our perception of who's doing the asking; for example, all the basic sex questions and requests for slang term definitions that are obviously coming for little kids who should not be getting their sex education on a public web site. . . . so we give inappropriate answers in return. I really don't know.

I don't know about mean, but why do people ask stupid questions and then expect someone to answer with a reasonable answer?

My advice: Don't ask a stupid question, and you won't get a stupid (and mean) answer. Remember: Stupid is as stupid does.

The reason shall always be the same, because people are bored and love to point out stupidity.

I don't know but I pisses me off. I asked a question in food yesterday on what I can cook my bf for lunch and dinner and I got answers regarding my relationship and people saying I'm a pushover.

I don't know...People should be nice and kind to one another even if they don't know the other person. WWJD (What would Jesus Do?)...That's the thing you need to think about when you ask and answer these questions. Maybe it's easier to be cruel and mean than to be nice and give constructive criticism...great question!!!
