I think it is best to join an already-running business. You can save yourself a lot of startup costs and you can start making money immediately based upon your efforts. I had a traditional business selling services in the computer industry. I like the Marketing Rep business much better that I am in now.

3rd party billing is also very popular at home, need a big computer, and a couple back up systems so you don't loose any information. Hard copies would mean file and cabinest etc. Your homeowners insurance would have to be adjusted to replace anything that might happen, like robbery etc. Extra insurance for identy thief of sensitive information, you would still have to pass a background check etc.
