Why does my dog constantly want to lick people's hands?

She doesn't lick in a normal, greeting way. She licks it frantically, like she wants it to dissolve or something. I fyou're sitting there watching TV, she'll come up and start frantically licking your hand, and if you pull your hand away, she'll whine and bark. It doesn't really bother me, I just think it's odd!

I was going to say it's because she's trying to get some action but I like lyleaux answer more.

Although, we don't only expel salt from out hands. If she is attracted to the salt why not lick another part of the body as well? Why just the hands?

I'm leaning more towards her wanting attention. Like a rub down on her tummy or something. I think she wants attention/love.
