I think you meant gun blueing. Blueing is a finish applied to firearms to protect the metal from rust and corrosion. Ironically, the blueing process itself is chemically similar to oxidization, or rusting, and it provides a stable oxidized surface that can't be messed with! Blueing leaves a dark blue or blue-black finish on the metal surface. Traditionally, blueing is a chemically messy process that you need a hot solution for, but you can get over the counter cold blueing kits and do it yourself at home with decent results. Beware, that no matter what the finish, any metal surface will eventually corrode or rust if not properly cared for.
