I need to see a dentist as soon as possible to have a tooth extracted. I am wanting to know if anyone has ever had a laser used to extract a tooth?

nope, your best bet is just getting put under with nitrous, as those shots they give you in the gums are horrible...

As a dentist I can tell you no, we don't use lasers to extract teeth. We can use them to do the drilling, we use them to cut soft tissue (gum surgery), we even use them to detect cavities. Unfortunately the method for actually getting the tooth out is the same as it has been for 50 years. Like I tell my patients you SHOULD feel pressure when the tooth is being taken out, but SHOULD NOT feel pain. If anyting starts hurting raise your hand and stop the dentist. (preferably the hand that won't smack the dentist in the face). He/she should stop immediately no matter what they are doing and give you more anesthetic. Usually (famous last word:) you can't feel the shots after the first one. Nitrous helps some people and does nothing for others. It's like a 3 beer buzz. It doesn't really change what you're feeling, you just don't care quite as much. Hope this helps a little.

Using lasers to extract teeth would be EXTREMELY dangerous and ineffective. Laser beams travel in a straight line, so it would be very difficult to get under the tooth.

dont go to the dentist because all they will tell you is to not eat or drink and thing for 4 hours and avoid brushing your teeth in the area of the missing tooth.

No such procedure, but if it existed I'm sure you would pay more for it.

Lasers. . .
