For heavy weight, Ali. I remember when he fought as Cassius Clay. Quckest hands and feet I have ever seen for a big man. Plus he packed power in his punch. Surprised many by the force of his fists. Also he always had a gimmick for every new fight. Peanut head for Larry Holmes, the thriller in manilla, plus some of the best fights boxing ever seen Ali vs. Frasier.

For the other weight classes, I would say Marv Hagler. A bruiser and a smart fighter like Ali.

Julio Cesar Chavez - for his long undefeated record, for the multitude of opponents he fought, for his wars with guys like Ramirez, Rosario and Taylor, for his subtle defense that was so effective but went unnoticed so often. There's more to Chavez than I think anyone could ever describe.

Sugar Ray Robinson
Never got to see him fight a live fight, just tapes of old bouts. Excellent fighter, both boxing skills & brawling capabilites. He is one of those fighters that could definately span the ages, fight todays top fighters and be succesfull.
