I think you stole that thought from Nietzsche, but I agree.

What evidence are you basing this on? I don't know, but I'm guessing you've felt betrayed by a belief in Him? Like He didn't make good on his promise? Before you give up on Him, please consider the evidence for him.
Modern biology has all but destroyed the theory of evolution. Natural selection does take place, (like the different finches Darwin found) but they still remain finches. No interspecies evolution has ever been seen nor any fossils found. (The few that have been cannot be proven, are completely rediculous, or have been proven fraud.)
Also, many things are irreducibly complex, meaning they have many parts that work together to acheive something useful, like the eye and sight. Every peice would have had to evolved at the same time for any of them to have been useful. (Sorry if my explanations are not clear)
There's much more than that, but that doesn't address the question of God being dead.
Jesus Christ existed. That much is not disputed. WHat is disputed is his divinity.
He claimed to be God. Now, he could have been a liar, a lunatic, or he was telling the truth. His teachings, behaviour, and constant outwitting of the most educated men of his time (pharisees) show that he was not loony.
If he was a liar, what motives could he have had? Fame and fortunes? Or just feeling good and special, maybe. But if that were so, he would have taken the chance to admit His mortality and avoided the crucifixion. (the worst death known at that time.) He must have been telling the truth.
I cannot convince you, but I do care, and hope to see you in Heaven. I pray that the Holy Spirit will pour His love and peace on you. Don't ever give up hope!!

I honestly don't know what to say. I'm one of those "I have to see it to believe it" people, which sort of sucks in some cases, like this one. Everyone probably wants to feel safe and secure with God around, an afterlife, and such; but the question is, is there really a God? You could ask any religious person and you know what your answer will be, ask any athiest and you know what your answer will be. I just have a hard time believing there is a God when such horrible things are going on. Some people who have done awful things and committed terrible crimes live to be 90; yet some innocent people who are just beginning their life get killed by a drunk driver at the age of 20. Life isn't fair, we all know that. When we think of God, we think of him being immortal, no beginning, so either there is a God or there isn't, he hasn't "died out" or anything. The whole religion thing just seems like it's there to comfort people, to reassure them there's something after death. There are many, many religions, and if there is a God, isn't there just one? But, on the other hand, we cannot blame God for our actions. We have the ability to make our own choices. You will never find an answer to this question, only opinions.

It's a shame how many answers include "I don't believe in God" are in here. GOD is the beginning and the end. He will always exist. As they say in the BIBLE: GOD is not like man. He lets good and bad things happen because of a thing we have called free will. I believe in GOD and am a Christian to the very end. Yes, things do happen that I don't like but everything happens for a reason. Believe what you want, but KNOW that there is a GOD!!

Yeah, there's a word for the belief that god created the universe and then gave up on it (I don't remember what the word is). It makes more sense to believe that then to believe an all loving god is still here with us. It makes even more sense though to believe that god doesn't exist and never has.

There are some philosophies that say that god set up the universe, then left it alone.

Sort of like having young children alone in the house, then the parent leaving town for a few months to have them fend for themselves.

When I die, I'm suing god for neglect. I think I may have a cause, but all the lawyers will be in hell, so we'll probably have to settle.

Can't be answered because to answer your question, affirms the one who answers that you are correct in your belief. And I believe God does exists.

Rephrase the question. You can't enforce your belief and trap people to make them agree to your beliefs.

As for giving up on God because something happen due to parents getting divourced then that's no faith. Faith is stronger than a word of, "I believe." Faith is - submitting to God no matter what happens. One can question but to not believe due to something happening, that's not belief, faith, submission to God.

xbutterflyz - It's really - WHAT IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO! You got brains. You got opportunities. You got technology. You got knowledge. What the heck do people want. You got everything.

It's people who sit and do nothing who suddenly say - Oh this is what best he can do," are the ones who need to ask, "what the heck have I done." Looks like not much mate if you are saying this. When its good, they happy and think its from them. When they get tested to see if they got courage and appreciate what they got, they complain.

Don't pass the buck to God. He gave us everything, and now its us who got to do what has to be done to succeed.

He did - He's not - and your in big trouble when you get home! Lighten up dude! There are young impressionable minds you are warping out here. Man I tell you I use to believe like you, after my parents split. But, that was because I thought it was my fault. They were suppose to show me what love was while I was growing up, but that didn't work either. Then I started listening to people like you tell me, things that I thought were true, but found out later that all that was lies too. So who do you trust! Not someone like you that can't look around and see that there is a God and there are those that believe in him, that love you too no matter how low we present ourselves, God loves us all so come on man lighten up and do some more research! Love ya!

oh yea... he used to exist but then decided one day to give up and retire?!?!? what the... lol. i'm sorry but your question is... weird :s
if God used to exist but he doesnt no more.. how come everything is working out the way it used to be!
Just because there's God, that doesnt mean everything gotta be the way you want things to be for you always. even if you believe in him! however, all is good all the time. if something good happened, thank God and you're rewarded. if something bad happened, be patient and dnt let go and you're rewarded for that too! how easier can life get!
