Tonic water is actually quinine. It was originally formulated to relieve headaches, I believe. Then it was discovered to make a very nice mix with Gin and other liquors.
Drink some in a bar that has 'black lights'--it will glow in the dark, like something from Star Wars. That makes it very special. It has an acquirede taste. Wehn it is cold and with ice, it is very good.

You're not supposed to drink it straight. Add some lime juice and gin and you'll be singing a different tune. Hopefully "Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced"
