Sure go for it. I live in Zurich and went to Brussels for a weekend not long ago. It was about 8 hours; coming back I took a night train, took about 12.
I'd recommend the night train to get the most time in Switzerland (obviously your other option for that would be to fly). Take the train Brussels to Paris, take the night train Paris to Chur, which is right in the Alps (near Davos and St Moritz)). Spend the day in that area...next day head west or a bit north (Valais or Uri)...third day you can stop in Lucerne if you want, or Montreux. The night train leaves Basel at 1:00 am to get to Brussels-Midi at 9:20. If that's too late, better to end your day in Geneva, but that's around 4 pm.

The Alps are big, it really depends on the town you are travelling to. From Brussels to the Swiss border would take about 7 hours by train.

Brussels could be the capital of Belgium and may be the key seat of the Belgian Royal Family and, also the capital of the European Union and if you wish to know it then here is the place hotelbye . Brussels is a remarkably small, easy-going, and human-sized town for several its importance. Unlike anthers city using their millions of tourists, Brussels is Belgium's major economic and instructional link, gives the town a far more workaday experience than other towns. Here, in Brussels, if you'd choose to go to, you will receive a appropriate sense for Belgian living, specially their excellent restaurant and café culture. Though Brussels might not have the star attractions of different Belgian neighborhoods, the capital has more than enough to help keep visitors occupied for a couple of days with a clutch of world-class museums and artwork galleries, in addition to quirkier sights including the Atomium, and some amazing remnants of old structure in the previous area quarter.
