Rub pure gold on the area with the stye. Such as a ring or piece of jewelery.

There is an over the counter ointment called stye. Ask your pharmacist. Sometimes they will require antibiotics though. A stye is an infected eyelash, that is what my doctor told me. I get them a few times a year. I don't know why but they are miserable.
Also, hot washcloths on your eye will help take the swelling and itchiness away.

If you wear eye makeup you will want to stop doing this until the eyes are healed. Also you will need to dispose of that makeup, it is probably the reason you have a sty, old makeup or sharing makeup bacterias will build up.
Keep your hands very clean and away from your eyes.
Second you can rinse your eyes with cool water and wash your eyes (closed) with a mild soap like baby soap. It will comfort the itch and also keep the eye clean, you should especially do this upon rising in the morning and before bed.
I would also not share or reuse the same towel that you use to dry your face, you might want to use a paper towel for the time being while the eye is healing. It will take up to a week for the sty to heal.
If the sty is very large you will need to see a doctor or if you are not seeing improvement after a week.

you can get drops or an oitment from the chemist... but for long term, they are often caused by dry eyes, which then break up the tear film in the eye, and also there are little glands in your eyelids that produce lubricants to help keep your eyes healthy.
After you've gotten rid of these:
Get a clean make up remover pad, or tissue. Run it under warm water. Then close your eyes and lightly rub the edge of the eyelid in a curcular motion.
You can also get drops which will help build up your tear film, but saline works well too.
It's amazing the difference it makes.

Hold a very warm wet wash cloth over your eye until, the stye burst if you do this it should be gone in 48hrs.
while you are waiting for this to happen you can buy eye cream to make blinking more comfortable.

I used to get styes as a kid - my grandmother would put very warm/almost hot tea bags over my eye, the tannic acid in the tea soothes the inflammation and feels really good.

Just went through this with my daughter. First about 4 times a day apply a HOT wash cloth to it. As hot as you can stand it without burning yourself. Then get either prescription medicine or over the counter sty med. Keep applying it. If you use eye liner stop using it for a while. Eyeliner clogs the ducts.

This really works. Crack an egg and place some of the yoke on the tip of your finger and rub it on the skin over the stye.
