1/2 centimeter is still very small. I'd want the tumor removed immediately and also any close lymph nodes removed to check for signs of cancer. Then ask the oncologist if you need any radiation or chemo. I'd also want a PET scan to make sure there was no cancer lurking anywhere else like in the liver or brain. You have a good chance for another very long remission or even a cure. Ask about taking tamoxifen after you finish your treatments. Hopefully you were taking it for 5 years after your first bout. If not, that is possibly why you have had a recurrence. Don't waste your time and window of opportunity with alternative treatments unless they are approved first by your oncologist and done in addition to traditional medical treatments. good luck

I am four years out from a left masectomy. Done with chemo three years last March. I would have a flippin fit first. Then do it all over again. Although I think I might try some alternative medicine. There is a natural onocolgist in Phoenix AZ. I'll see if I can find her name. Please get well. Take care .

Biopsy, then see the Oncologist who treated your breast cancer and find out what the treatment options are.
Discuss it thoroughly with him/her. Write down questions and bring someone with you to your appointment, so you have support and someone to help you remember stuff.
Find out if Chemotherapy and/or radiation is an option.
Find out if it is a whole new tumor or just extension of the old one and what it means since a new growth returned.
Keep your spirits up.

I would do whatever the doctors told me I had to do to stay alive. If that meant a masectomy and intensive treatement then I would not hesitate.
