I have a female dog in heat and I have a male dog and he is neutered. He is mounting her trying to breed with her. I know that he can't. They get locked together like they are but i know they aren't breeding. It is safe to leave them together still or should i keep seperatong them while i am not around. They look like they are pain. I don't know What to do. Help me

The male dog has been neutered for almost a year. I have made an appointment with the vet to get the female spayed next week.

Spay the female dog!!!! Right now!! If you need help paying for it call animal control, they have programs to help.
Until then, keep them apart. They really don't need to be doing that.

If he just got neutered, then he still has hormones running through his little body. The hormones should be gone after a few months. If it is past this time frame, then he should have no interest in her.
I would separate them until her heat is over and then get her spayed.

It is fine as long as your male has been neutered longer than three months. Before that he may still have viable sperm. If it has been longer, then you won't have pups from him, but be very careful that other males can not get to either dog. They will breed the female, and may hurt your male, as he will be seen as a rival.

It can be quite painful for both dogs when they are in the tie. As long as they are not causing any damage to eachother's organs you can leave them to their business. If it is upsetting you to see them then maybe you should separate them until your females heat is over. The tie is natural and although it may be uncomfortable for the dogs it is perfectly safe.

Call your vet ASAP and make an appointment to get her spayed. Until then, keep them separate anytime he gets that glint in his eye. : )
