Me too, OMG we are related. What I did is either eat slowly and eat foods with sugar free, and if you do other things like draw or sing, dance, write then you will be fine. I lost two pounds in a day. I exercise before and after I ate, and exercise in bed it helps. Seriously try it.

You need to eat more than an apple a day! Otherwise you will be thinking about food every time your stomach rumbles! Just stick to your three meals a day, but keep your portions down. If you feel hungry in between meals, eat a piece of fruit, or a handful of raisins or something. I know it's easier said than done, I have the same problem, when I'm bored I reach for food as it's something to do. If you're worried that you'll be thinking about food, keep yourself busy, find something to do, clean the house, go for a walk, join an exercise class, anything that will keep you occupied and your mind off food!

CONGRATULATIONS! It is not an easy step.
Like overcoming any addiction really, the more you practice it the easier it gets.
First of, think about the payoffs you will get. A healthier lyfestyle and a smaller waist.
You can reinforce your eating habits by flipping through magazine pictures that offer clothing styles you really really want. Doing so will help you realize that in order to ahieve these, you must really try hard and not give into the thought of cheesy, pizza.
On the contrary, if you keep focused on the price, you will keep your mind busy, trying to figure out ways that you can eat healthier rather than more.
Perhaps you can also go to the store and buy a smaller dress size, hanfg it in the closet, and run to it when the mind starts racing towards greasy foods.
Turn the tv on to the health channel (non-food) that focuses on cardiac exercises.
Take a walk.
Trade in your thoughts of food for actions of exercising.
I am sure that it will make it easier to trim down and eat healthier.
Its all in the mind, if you can vizualize it and really believe in it, consider it done.
Best wishes.

If you eat healthy and right then you do not need to limit food and can stuff yourself full of food. Don't stuff yourself full with wheat like bread. Stuff yourself full of watermelon. With better nutriion you won't think about food as much.
First it is not totally your fault that you are overweight since our society's way of eating that is making people fat is a pandemic (epidemic) that is getting worse. Atlantic Monthly magazine says that it has just become the #1 health problem in the world replacing hunger and infectious disease.
So you need to take the time to read everything on the site below under "exercise" and "diet" to re-learn everything over again. Do this and you can become thin. Do this not and you will still have what you have now.
You will learn about fastest ways to lose weight, how to flatten your belly before an event (losing 5 to 20 pounds) and slower ways to lose bodyfat, retained water and a 3rd thing. Pick what is most appropriate for you.

What you need to do is give in to your cravings! Hve a small brownie, or a few chips, or whatever it is you are craving. I can only assume you think about these types of things. To help keep yourself full, drink a lot of water all day. Make sure you are taking in foods from all of the food groups. If you want a little snack, try carrots, they are sweet, but very good for you, I reccomend vegetables more than fruits, because they don't have as much sugar. Avoid dips for vegetables, though. That's where you find fat and calories. Occupy your mouth with sugarfree gum, if you need to. Try a whitening one, it may help your teeth, too! Take up a few new hobbies! Start going for walks, my sister and I walk to subway once a week. Make sure to treat yourself, your body is not a slave. You don't gain 50 lbs over night, so you can't loose it quick either! Good luck to you, and if you need more advice feel free to email me!

Focus on something else -like a new hobby that will keep you active . Exercise or get out and walk more and stop thinking so much about food. Get some head-phones and listen to the radio or music while you exercise .At the end of the month , promise yourself a reward if you have been good .

Do anything that you can't eat during!
When I quit smoking, I swam a LOT of laps at the Y, knitted, anything that kept my hands busy.
Other activities are bike riding, (hard to eat holding handlebars), stained glass. Exercise can modify appetite (in correct amount), speed metabolism, and distract you from eating.
You may need to reduce, modify, or quit some activities if they have strong ties to food, such as TV watching.
I have recently joined Sparkpeople, and that is motivating. I also have a women's cycling forum that motivates me to ride my bike, and share information, tips, and especially emotional support from other women.

Just eat enough to never be hungry. But not to be full. Even if it means eating 5 times a day.

To start with don't ask questions about it on yahoo and sit waiting to read why you should avoid food when all you are doing is placing such great importance on it, you can't help but want to go to the kitchen and get that... you fill in the blank. Seriously though, try doing something different or new to rewire your brain.
