stop parallel to other car with your front seat = to parked car front seat, and your car is 3 feet from the parked car.
turn steering wheel to full right and then start backing.
when you are = to rear bumpter other car keep backing and start reversing steering wheel slowly.
then straighten up in slot.
works everytime.

It's all a matter of visualization before you start. Leave enough room between you and the car you are going to park behind so that you can have about a 45 degree angle approach with the back of your car to the curb and still crank the wheel all of the way over when it's time to straighten out without being limited by the rear end of the front parked car. Then it's just a matter of timing the straightening out portion of the parking maneuver so that the car won't either hit the curb or be too far away from it. It takes practice because you have to get in tune with the turning radius of a vehicle.

Pull your car side by side with the front car leaving about 6 inches of your back bumper behind the car, cut your wheel to the right (if you are parking on the right side of the road) as you begin to move into the open space, when your rear right wheel is 6 inches from the curb, cut the wheel the opposite way completly, you should then be able to move forward and backward until positioned correctly, the key is being only a few inches away from the front car in the beginning when you are side by side.

pull up so your rear bumper is even with the car that will be in front of you, then while you have your foot on the brake, turn your wheel almost all the way, so as to point your rear end toward the curb. as soon as you're about at a 45 degree angle straighten your wheel, while stopped, and turn it back the other way while you straighten the car out next to the curb. you'll most likely end up pretty close to the car behind you, so the pull the car forward so you leave yourself room between your bumpers.

Always look over your shoulder toward the near side of the vehicle therefore judging distance behind you as well as where the curb is located in the side view mirror. Always have your mirrors set before you set off driving anywhere.

Seriously EVERYBODY I know will park a block away to avoid it. I'm 28 and the last time I parrallel parked was when I did my driving test!!

dont have the car in motion while you are turning the wheel. And turn your steering wheel all the way when you make the turns. Seems to work for me.

one very important tip.....You have to BACK into the spot no matter how big it may appear to be. other than that, lots of practice and a few scrubbed tires. good luck
