When people of religious backgrounds push their beliefs down yout throat?
I have nothing against religion, but not everybody believes in "god" or whatever else, so why keep going on about it? Sorry if i offend anyone, but ive had enough of the religious belief system..

Yes it does bother me, it's not like we go up to religious people and try and make them not belief in the bible and god. It's the same thing and if we tried to do that they'd get pretty annoyed too. They just don't understand that just because they believe in it, that doesn't mean that everyone has to.

I'm not saying that all religious people do this because there are a lot of my friends who are religious and I would've never found out if I didn't directly ask them.

Don't be sorry if you offend anyone. You wouldn't write this in the first place if other people trying to force their belief's on you wasn't offensive. It's the people of religious backgrounds who need to stop being so offensive!

And 'uglymug' has another thing coming.

I'm a new Christian and yes, people like that annoyed me before I believed in God, and they still do. But I've also learned that there are those people who just don't know how to talk about their faith that is not judgemental and pushy.

Sure, there are those who truly think non-believers need to be set straight. But I think in the end, they're not helping their "cause" by being offensive or pushy or elitist (who wants to be part of a religion where the people are pushy and offensive?).

Grow up. There are a lot more offensive things in the world than "pushing " religion. If you don't want to believe, fine, but don't just down religion because you can't take a few ill-timed calls or a few zealots harping on about how much god can do for you.

It's like listening to a little kid tell others that there really is a Santa and that if you do something bad, he won't give them any toys. Adults do this too with religion, because it makes them feel better to have others believe as they do. Having others believe in a fantasy makes it seem more real. People who do that, just ignore them. Instead, get yourself a public library card, learn about art, music and culture and become educated and infomed.

I believe in God and I feel the best way to share your beliefs to people is by showing them, not telling them. And on behave of all those religious people out there that try to dictate how you should live you life, I apologize greatly. You do it your way and I will do it mine, but we both get it done.

Yes, it bothers me. Do these people really think they are going to "save" someone by preaching to them on Yahoo! Answers? I believe in God, but I hate having it pushed down my throat. It reminds me of the Pharisees and Saducees. These people like to preach for the sake of sounding pious and knowledgeable. I say, "Give it a rest already!"

Yes. I am so SICK of people asking me to go to their church and then getting offended because I don't want to.

I lead a much more moral life than most of these people too. Nothing like having religion pushed on you by some guy who's shacking up with his pregnant girlfriend. Hypocrites.

it totally annoys me, people should be free to ask whatever religious questions, or athiest ones they want without being ridiculed or ridiculing others who ask them. The problem is people like to ask inflammatory questions. If an athies asks are you a christian and why that is fine, but when thwy say no more christians asking stupid questions that is wrong. same goes for christians. People should ask questions they want an answer to, not ones they want to get contoversy out of. I asked "what do you want to get out of life" and had a christian trying to convert me, it was totally off topic and I am a christian.
