if you are withdrawling while taking them, then you've taken so many that they aren't working for you anymore....that happened to me when I was on xanax for a long period of time....You, like I did, need a NEW dr....my new Dr also figured out that I was bi-polar and prescribed me the right kind of meds....I had to go to hospital when being weened off xanax...I don't know how dangerous it is to ween yourself off your sleeping meds but you need to find out...you should't take any at all anymore because they are messing w/ your mind...I was giver adderal while in hospital to ween me off xanax...I don't know what you will need....If you have medical insrance....GO TO EMERGENCY ROOM!!! or go there anyhow...they have payment plans...good luck to you..

Because you are asking in Alternative methods, I'll tell you what works the best that is not a pain pill so to speak and works fast and is highly effective and you will need to be ready to lye down within 20 mins. Chamomile Tea or Catnip Tea. Both are safe, non-additive and you don't feel back or hung over. You will literally sleep like a baby and dream good too, if at all. You can purchase chamomile in the grocery store coffee isle. Catnip you can purchase it fresh in the produce dept. Take about 4 or 5 leaves, steep in fresh boiled or microwaved water for 10 mins. sweeten a little and drink. Catnip is especially effective for men. Chamomile very effective for women.

Quit the same way that I did with alcohol: Realised that I care about myself, and that I would likely mess up my life, possibly to the point of a very early ending to it, if I kept drinking.
If you want to sleep, just get up at 3 or 4 in the morning, keep going all day, and let exhaustion claim you after a hot bath at 11pm.
All the best for a substance-free life! If I can do it, you can! Peace!

Give up sleep and you'll not need sleeping tablets. Or-mix them with simple vitamins or sweets that look the same. But mix them so that there's like 10 tablets but 20 vitamins in the bottle, dont look just take. Your mind may convince itself on chance that you got the tablet this time so it'll drift you off to sleep (placebo its called). Continue filling the bottle so there's about 20 in it. You'll NEVER know when you might've finished the tablets-maybe there'll always be one or two you always miss among the vitamins. Sooner or later your mind will click and say"Ah feck this-i give up" and you'll throw the lot in the bin. This way you take good vitamins too.
Fool yourself into giving them up! Hehehe

Change your doctor, they clearly aren't interested in your health or welfare.
You reduce the dose very, very gradually to avoid physical withdrawal symptoms such as hallucinations; then after a couple of months when you get down to a minuscule dose you make the determined effort to stop; you'll do better with support and you won't get that from your current g.p.

You need to withdraw very slowly....its like coming off any medication that you have been on for any length of time...discuss it with your GP...or Clinic Nurse...or local Mental Health Team...good luck to you...if you really want to come off them...you will find a way that suits you...just take it slow & dont rush...x

Call your family doctor. If you do not have one get one. Get your records ready to send to him. I don't know much about bi-polar disorder. I do think a PCP (princaple care provider) is your best bet. Good luck!
