I had a pastor who bragged about his wife all the time in church and it bothered and annoyed me. I mean, we're here to hear the word of God, not his wife. Its ok to lift up your wife every once in a while, but you shouldnt do it every Sunday. I mean c'mon, you have alot of christians who are single, divorced and separated in the congregation and a pastor should recognize that. But thank God, I dont go to that church anymore, I go to a more decent church where the pastor only lifts up Jesus, not materilistic things and that's the way a church should be.

And no, none of his sermons were about exalting his wife, he does it every Sunday for no reason. I mean the minute a pastor steps onto that pulpit, he needs to be under the anointing, not in the flesh.

he's always glossing about his wife. saying how beautiful she is, making comments like, "Wait until we get home." in front of the whole congregation

I've never had a pastor do that, because my dad has been a pastor even before I was born. I don't really think that was a very good pastor if all he praises is his wife (unless he's using her to make a point). My dad uses me and my hole family to make points sometimes, but he dosen't praise us!

Preachers are not always perfect. Christians are not instantly made perfect, but we are being transformed by Jesus Christ whom which we confess as our Lord and Savior.

Sadly, many Christians are being tossed back and fro by the waves of the world, being misled into compromising their faith, and thus misled into treating Christ as a separate part of life, rather than being integrated. We are to be zealous, to LIVE for God. To walk in the light of God.

Oh, that person that just posted above me made me think, yeah, are you sure he's not teaching lessons ABOUT her, or just glossing over his wife?

I wasn't there, so I will not argue with you, but during the sermons that he extolled the virtues of his wife, did his sermon center around marriage, wives, or relationships? Or maybe was the sermon about a particular moral that really described his wife?

I was taught a long time ago, don't speak about yourself or your family on the pulpit.
