The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy and therefore they use the Navy corpsmen and dental techs. The Marine Corps is for warriors (they hate being called soilders, that's Army) and they don't worry about the things the Navy can handle.

..There is a navy corpsman with every plt of marines. It's been that way since wwII. They are considered marines by marines. They save lives. That's why they are there. For same reason there are army medics.
No there is no MOS for medic in the CORPS.
The Marine Corps is a special branch of service under the dept of the Navy. Therefore there are certain things like medical care which the Navy provides.

The Marines are the Navy's security force on Navy ships. So when they go to fight, Corpsmen go with them. A note; Corpsmen go through Marine boot camp before going out with the Marines in the field.

Navy corpsmen are the best trained most capable battlefield medics in the world....Any other battle ready medical team no matter who they are do not even come near the profiencietcy of these miracle workers---in Viet Nam thousands more would have died if not for these heroic icons of mercy and skill...If you have the best fighting men on the job ---the only way to support them properly should be with the absolute best !!!!

No, there is no job category for the Marines for Medical. They are tied in with the Navy for this.

The Marines don't have medical personnel. They are always Navy.
