I'm having some problems with some of my co-workers for not being in the social ring. They come to work everyday and gossip even the manager is in the group I just do my work and keep to myself. I dont have time to put people down. They even talk about each other. I'll be vested within two years and also have a degree but its getting harder and harder to stick around the negative people that put me down for not working overtime and going back to school . PLS send some good advice. By the way I'm a single parent with two kids and I go to shool full time and work fulltime.

Tough it out. If you quit now, you'll have to find another job as well as study at school and take care of your children (it's too much stress). I know it feels like a negative environment, but it's only for two more years and you need the money to get through university. Unless you have another job at hand that can give you a similar salary and the same flexible hours that allow you to go to school, then you don't have that much of a choice. You can try looking for a better job while you are still working at the same place. Just remember that your kids and you need the money. Your schooling requires money.

If you were not in school and only had to take care of yourself, I would suggest leaving and finding something you are happy with. Since your children's happiness and your schooling is on the line, wait until you are finished schooling before quitting (try searching up employment while you are still working there).

Try joining the social group. If you don't really like them, then continue minding your own business. However, you have to have some friends at work or your work will be hell. Don't just let the environment affect you; actively change the environment yourself (e.g. you can make friends, talk to higher-level managers about this, etc.).

You need to follow the chain of command. 1st let the manager know that your not comfortable in working under these conditions, if nothing is changed go to her boss. No one should have to put up with losing their job or face abandonment from others if they don't follow suit. Don't let this type of behavior run you away from a job, that right now you need. Jobs are scarce and we all the money we can make. Your boss should be a shame of themselves what type of managerial skills are they showcasing? Also, go back to school and start your business and you want have to up with immature bullsh*t.

Last time I checked, Congress was responsible for the government's purse strings and laws. Perhaps if the House Republicans got their heads out of their rears, something might be done to fix the problem.

you dont have time for that crap. just stay on track and work and go to school and be a good mom. stay out of the circle and avoid them. you may feel like an outcast but you will come out ahead and leave them in the dust then who will be laughing and talking??

If you stay, you are going to be miserable for at least 8 hours a day. Decide if your goal of full vestment is worth the misery you will be enduring.

Good luck.
