Islam came in the 7th century to Muhammad. Islam, by concept, wasn't a new religion. Its basic idea is that you worship ONE God, a God with no sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, partners, etc. Islam was brought to Earth to correct the religions that came before it, such as Judaism and Christianity, which became twisted via forgetfullness of the people or by malice. For example, Islam says that Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus, Job, David, etc. all were sent by God to deliver the message to worship Him and Him alone. Eventually, this message was lost and so Muhammad was sent as the last messenger ever to humanity to set the record straight again. Islam teaches that no other prophet (with the likes of Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, etc.) will be sent to mankind, something which 1,400+ years later still holds true. Muslims believe the Qur'an is the word of God and was revelealed to Muhammad over time throughout his prophethood.

If you compare all these religions, you will find these are based on stories far far back in history very poorly presented, written and preserved by the followers very poorly so we find many contradictions in these religions in this scientific world, but only Islam is well detailed and preserved in a good manner, so this is the only religion which can be tested scientifically these days.
