you r right to say that there is no evidence for it. but did you know that there are lots of material in turkish archives prooving armenians killing turkish men and raping turkish women. thats because they are made to move to southern turkey from their home. when this happened the relatives of armenian's victims started doing same to the killers. also there are records in archives showing that ottoman empire established a law to protect armenians.
in fact both sides are a bit guilty but people overlook that it was war time and turks and armenians are pained.
i think that armenians are doing wrong because they preferred to blame turkey and tried to gain sympathy in a politic way and refused to investigate history in a scientific way. i also think that they managed it because everybody on earth has a certain prejudice about turkey right now.
WHY DOES ANYONE TRY TO READ SOME ABOUT THIS ISSUE, FROM BOTH POINTS OF VIEW?

Hi--I'm a 39/F who grew up in CA and knew an older Armenian couple who were friends of our family. It must have been the mid-1970's when my mother told me their story. Since they were already elderly at that time, and the story is of the woman when she was a little girl, I figure her story of Armenian genocide by the Turks must have occurred sometime between 1910 and 1920.
She was younger than 10 years old when the Turks invaded their village and attacked her family in her house. Her mother and sisters were all raped, but she was not. Several of the men/boys in the household were wounded or killed.
She told of being forced to march a very long way, and that when they came to a hill of some sort, the road divided. The males and females were divided into two columns--the women and girls went around one side of the hill, while the men and boys went around the other side. When the two roads came together at the far side of the hill, no men or boys joined them. They never saw them again.
She then told of how they had a very long train ride. When she got off the train, she saw that a woman had dropped a tall loaf of bread on the ground. The little girl was so hungry that she went over and plopped down on the loaf of bread. Since they were carrying all they could, the little girl had on as many dresses/skirts as she could fit into, so there was plenty of material to hide the loaf of bread. But then she started to feel guilty and she returned the loaf of bread to the lady who had dropped it.
At some point after that, she came to America to live with relatives. That's all I remember.

Before WWI it happened. We don't really know about it because it is illegal to talk about it in Turkey, and people have in fact got sent to jail for talking about what took place. It is sometimes refered to as the "Forgotten Genocide"
