because the chicken has lived an entire life of oblivon not understanding the truth and realities of a vast outside open world. living amongst a doomed path, so one day the chicken decided that the time had come. the day was set and without delay he took the first step on his journey
First he would have to get on the other side of the fence surrounding the perimeter, which was no easy task as we all know chickens cannot fly. however with whatever strength he could muster, the chicken climbed the wooden poles and with an intricate foot grasp on the wires, he was able to overcome the burden.
finally the road was laid out infront of him, the road sepparated the life he had lived in the infirmary of other chickens living in a redundant cycle of being fed seeds and laying eggs constantly everyday only to wind up on a plate for geedy consumers.
-No he wouldn't have it that way, he couldn't. He refused to end up that way
the road was a mild 28.396 feet wide and in his size the proportion would be the equivelant to 54.854 yards for us humans. not a car was in sight. he had to do it now or never. with the first step on the hard asphalt, he crossed.
in a mere 22 seconds it was all over, he was over on the other side, the world of loss and vile fate had left him, he was free, he was redeemed, he was alive. with the cool summer breeze rusling through his feathers, he took one last look at the farm, which he and only once could call home, and headed down the hill to find the world,
the vast open world
Thank you

Basically to get to the other side. But I have a chicken on the road, it was a plymouth rock hen on side of a the 405 freeway in California. She was perfectly safe and unharmed and enjoying life on the other side! We think that she may have escaped from a livestock truck heading for a slaughter house. Maybe the chicken crossed the road to avoid being someone's next order of buffalo wings! But then again maybe he just crossed it out of curiousity

What is a chiken? And, can it fly? 'cause it has to suck to be a bird and you can't fly.
