I ask this question because of a reply to a question that I saw. I as an American would be fine if there were just a few, then just documenting them, and having to pay fines as restitution for breaking our laws to get here.would be okay. Save me a dime or two, lol. But, there is one problem, there are millions, and in other countries just a few hundred would be considered an act of war by the invading nation. Americans are also beginning to see this invassion as an act of war. I would rather not go there, but to protect my country, I will do as my ancestors did, fight. Illegal aliens need to learn how to fight in their own countries, and earn their freedom there.

What? And have Peace? This administration couldn't handle it.

Please don't fight. Our ancestors didn't have oozies & atomic
bombs. There is enough contamination on the planet without
adding to it for something that can be resolved peacefully.

No...Americans would Not be happier. Americans would lose what little faith they had left in the judicial and political systems. Amnesty will not happen. Any politician that has gone against the wishes of the Legal Americans will be voted out of office.

I think it is a scream to see some people think that there could possibly be a screening process. I can see it now ...an add in the paper..All illegals..please report to the local high school auditorium for screening to see if you qualify to stay in America. The amount of people that would actually show up is a huge ZERO. For that reason alone a screening process is down right stupid, and a colossal waste of time and money.

Documented is better than undocumented but the punishment on the books for breaking into this country illegally is deportation.

If we're going to allow people to stay then the penalty or fine should be severe enough to come close to deportation. There is nothing in the current Senate bill to date that comes close to that today.

Under no circumstance should we ever reward people who are here illegally with the greatest benefit of being an American, which is citizenship and the right to vote.

My thing is about this whole situation:: These illegal aliens are being catered to. They get free social services, welfare, healthcare, food stamps and wic. They have their anchor babies(illegals having children that are born american citizens) and use these babies as saying "dont separate our family". We should make it where atleast one parent has to be an American citizen for the child to be automatically a citizen. The Mexicans are having 5-6 babies, where Americans have on agerage 2-3 children. Thats about double of us...if we keep letting these illegal's babies become citizens then they are going to out number us. Research shows that by 2030 2 in 5 people will be hispanic. They already out number blacks and are working towards out numbering whites. Everytime you look around a mexican woman is pregnant.

Another thing that gets me...everything is printed in english and spanish...why would these people learn English if they can get everything they need in spanish...We say they should learn english, but print everything in spanish. I cant buy a darn thing without it being in 2 languages, and frankly I am sick of it!!! English has got to become our official language, if not soon then we will be a country with 2 official languages...

I say deport most of them and let them come back the right way, but not before first securing our borders!

Also some mexicans think of this as taking over "their" land that was stolen from them...thats what reconquista means...look it up.
Being in tx I am sick of the illegals mooching off our tax dollars...something has got to be done!!! and our politicians arent doing a da** thing...

I would rather do as my ancestors did. Defend our territory to the death and any trespassers caught forfeit their lives.
Clips4life and Mendi8a, it is NOT impossible to deport these CRIMINAL TRESPASSERS. You would like to believe that, wouldn't you? Americans can do anything. We have proven it time and time again. So smoke some more of what you grew.

It's time for the true patriots of this country to take action against these criminals like the governor of Hazleton, Pennsylvania is doing. Criminal illegals, when caught, are being turned over to ICE immediately and any business that hires these illegals is losing their business licenses. I am petitioning my governor to start enacting the same kinds of laws in my state.

In my opinion, I would be happier if millions of illegal aliens died instead of being documented or deported. I would change my career to gravedigger.

I'd rather enforce workplace laws as it's proven to be effective in Japan and Swizerland. The laws are on the book, we just haven't had an adminstration that's cared enought to enforce them.

If your going to go with any plan of letting people stay, here's one I developed that I'd support as a second option (not to be confused with the Pence plan):

If it was up to me, I'd first and foremost secure the border. ...prove that there's few illegals passing, and absolutely no drug smugglers/terrorists passing. Then we could work on a reasonable processes for the 12 milion (or more) here.

If the border was proven effectively sealed, here's what I would find permissable...

Note: The below must be taken in full context.

1)I would give a general permanent residence (to illegals), given: A--they'll never get a right to vote B-- they're sponsored C--they pay for their own medical insurance D--they're deportable if they commit three crimes (like California but deportation) E--they're not eligible for SS or medicare...(they still get taxed a similiar amount only to enforce illegal immigration both on the border and in the work place).

2)There's no guest worker program. Wage/inflation growth data in each industry is reviewed yearly. When ever a industries 'wages/inflation is out of control' (particular to a state), we offer permanent residence to a person whom takes a job in that industry (and in that state) for two years. After those two years, they could move to any industry and state they chose.

3)English is the language of the land.

4)I'll be the one of the few to say it, but if you came legally on a temporary visa, and you've graduated college here, you should be eligible to stay...I do think this should also be based on my wage/inflation concept.

5)Corrrespond with Mexico daily. Focus on their laws that impede private investment. Focus on making Mexico's police and politicians reliable agents of a benevolent government. Have measurements of economic and social success. Resolve not to move backwards into nationalization or corruption.

*In other words, they're forced to be responsible for themselves, but their tax dollars go directly towards making sure this problem doesn't come-up again. Also look primarily at the problem...Mexico's government is inadept, and is truely xenophobic. Make it an enviroment that isn't anti-business and anti-industry, but one that's willing to work within reasonable boundaries, which avoids corporate corruption but aspires to modern needs.

And it should focus on real immigration needs in America (ie the demands in educated fields), not fabricated needs. We can immigrate labor legally when ever we want to.

As always, it would be promoted that these individuals leave and apply lawfully.

no ! Hidden in the fine print of the 200 plus page McCain-Kennedy, Senate Immigration Bill and as part of the President Bush's
Guest Worker program, are free pass amnesty provisions that will allow an unlimited number of illegal aliens to obtain a free pass and gas so that the Illegals can take the jobs U.S. citizens cannot afford to drive to.

No......probably not. BUT I would be fine with the ones who are here being granted amnesty ......as long as it was AFTER the border was closed and secured, screening conducted and further flow cut off or at least reduced to less than 10 percent.

See and then I read further to make sure I am answering and you start a whole new question. Well I am just going to stick with the original question and leave the invasion part alone.

Reality Rocks!

No I wouldn't be happier. I would be happier if they weren't here illegally and sucking our resources dry & waited in line like all the other people wanting to immigrate here legally. By documenting all of them now is giving them amnisty and rewarding them for illegal behavour. Lets get real people. If we start documenting these criminals instead of deporting them back to where they belong, then its only encouragement for others to cross illegally and hope for the same benefits.

No. I am a legal immigrant to this country and illegal immigrants should not be rewarded for breaking the law. The are hundreds of thousands of educated people waiting to immigrate here legally. Doctors, Nurses and people in the computer industry that would contribute to this country. We have a shortage of nurses and doctors in this country.

It is easier to remove 20 million illegals than to have this invasion continue and create a possible civil war.

As sad as it is, the illegals I've seen both in the media and in my city that "took to the streets" May 1st are not American loving people, they are Mexicans who want America. Remember all the Mexican flags that were carried...we saw it in our city. We also saw the U.S. flags drug on the ground, used to wipe a child's nose, stepped on, etc. Not one Mexican flag was desecrated. That was a HUGE statement for Americans!
