depends on what it was for.
On the NCIC report that the police get, the arrest and the result of the court will show up. If it is dismissed it will not show up on any regular background for any non police or any non national secuirty.
So you will still have to explain it and list it ( and show it dismissed) They will want to know about every arrest, not just convictions.
