Why on earth would *need* a dog *fast*? Don't rush into anything - you have to make a 15 year committment to this life and be able to give it your time, love, and money (several thousand dollars by the end of his life). Rushing to get one will probably force you to buy from one of those horrible pet stores where they buy from breeders who abuse their animals, or to buy from a backyard breeder who doesn't know what they are getting into or how to breed correctly (for anything other than money). PLEASE don't 'get one fast'. Take the time to find the right dog for you and the right match for you. Pets are not accessories. They are your responsibility for life.

You don't NEED a dog. A responsible pet owner knows a dog needs you. It sounds like you want a dog for the wrong reasons, so you should not get one.

I am well aware of what the Puppy Mills call their mutts. You will pay more for the mutt than you will for either of those breeds from a reputable breeder. Please rethink buying a dog from a puppy mill or BYB you are enabling them to continue their horrid breeding practices.

Give her the money and let her pick out her own dog. One should never give a dog as a gift.

Let your friend choose he own animal. My sister's friends gave her a dog and my dad had to end up taking care of him.
