I have a gay friend and she knows its wrong. She has excersised faith by continuing to pray for God to change from the inside. She is really serious and wants to know why she has this feeling for girls. She also knows that God will act on a prayer request when HE feels the time is right..... what's going on...???

We need to help ourselves for God to help us.
- She realized the sin and this is a reward in its self.
- She is determined and this is another reward.
- She is seeking God help and this is another reward.
-Delay in response by God if responded by patienace by you is also another reward
Yet, If you get flu and you just pray, you will not be cured.
SoI suggest that she should try therapy and I believe this is what is missing.

I agree with Johnny on this. Sexual orientation is not something most people choose. It is just the way they are. If God does exist he doesn't answer prayers too often. Think about how many homosexual people are in the world who would change if it really were so easy. Think of all the parents who led good lives and loved their children and prayed for them when they got cancer but the children still died. It amazes me that some Christians will say a prayer for something like "I hope I get this job" or some other random thing and because it by chance happened they think God is answering prayers everywhere. Accept you friend for who she is, that is what love is about.

That's tough when you really believe in God.
The easy answer is that it's all a load of crap and she should just live her life happily. How could it be wrong to love someone? But since she is actually religious...
Maybe God is teaching your friend to love - herself and others - and once she understands how to love, she will accept both gay people and not gay people. Perhaps then she will meet and know how to love the man of her dreams.
This is probably a test of her true self. God is throwing wrenches in the system because your friend has never had cause to question herself and who she is. God feels your friend needs to dig deep inside and ask some pretty difficult questions about herself, in all areas.
In the end, it could be that she comes to the conclusion that the teachings of organized religion are not for her or she will realize she loves God and God loves her and she will follow his path. God may be asking her to make a choice.
Whatever the reason, I saw a sign just today that says, "Where he guides, he provides." If God is guiding her down this road, she can be sure that he is also providing for her safe passage.
We all go through tough identity issues. She just has to be true to herself.

She may not ever know the reason "why". God never promised to answer that question, except to tell us that all things work together for good to those who love Him. She may have a long struggle ahead of her, and those feelings might be a thorn in her flesh for years. . . but I would tell her to be strong in the faith, and not to give up. God always answers prayer, though the answer may not always be what you expected. He will certainly give her the strength not to fall into sin, if she asks for it. One of the greatest dangers is that she'll get weary of fighting with her own strength, and give up, and accept one of the lies that are circulating nowadays about how God really intended for her to be with another woman, so she shouldn't resist it. Whenever she needs it, remind her to cast all her troubles on Him, to be strong with His strength and glad with His gladness, because that's the only thing that will save any of us from anything, in the end.

curious_babe08,
Please read my newsletter for May on my Yahoo! 360 page. Then, recommend it to your friend. If she is not able to understand it, break it down for her into smaller pieces and think of examples to help explain it to her. It has the plan of God expressed in such a way as to make her feel good about herself now and to feel good about her imperfections in the process of change.
First, pray for your friend. Then encourage her, and keep encouraging her without ever judging her for any perceived failures. If she fails, keep praying, and be ready to help her when she asks again. She is exceptional as you can tell from the answers that you have received. She will succeed, but you must believe in her, and encourage her.
God bless.
If you would like to talk further, without the other influences, I do know quite a bit about helping people overcome things, and I have helped homosexuals that want help to succeed. Contact me any time.

Your friend is right. Don't listen to all these people with worldly opinions...listen to God. The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination to God...it makes Him sick...He abhors it. Hence, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Romans chapter 1. Christians ought to be about hating sin & loving sinners, just like Jesus did. I'm glad your friend is serious about repenting & turning away from this sin. She can't turn from it on her own but God has unlimited power to conquer sin. She needs committed Christian brothers and sisters to pray with her and support her. We can't do it alone...there's too much temptation and we are weak...but He is strong!! I will pray for her now. God bless you and your friend.

Being homosexual is an abomination in God's eyes. In the Bible it says that it is a stink in his nostrils. That does not mean that God doesn't love your friend. He still loves her and if she truly wants to be delivered, God will deliver her out of whatever mess she is in, like anybody else. All I can say is continue to pray for her, don't chastise her.

unfortunately, thats not something we may ever be able to really understand. praise God for you and your friend's faith though! dont give up- get more people to really support your friend in prayer. ive never been where she is right now, but i really doubt it will be easy for her to change fast. she will just have to keep working, talk to people, and not lose faith. i dont know how or when God will answer, but i do know that your friend needs to just practice relying on faith instead of her feelings. we are weak, and our feelings fail us! mine certainly have, and its a growing process for everyone. ill pray, God bless :)

The war is with in herself and until she understands whom her god really is and who she is this will continue in a cycle of uncertanities.
She feels god will act when the time is right, maybe he feels she has not suffered enough? "hello"
Mankind is slowly awakening to something very beautiful and the entire belief systems is at test.
For now tell her this to "shall pass" something much bigger is coming aware.
