My step mom was over today and we was talking about me not having my period, and I tried to tell her that the depo shot screwed my period up because I have yet to have one and it has been almost 3 months since my shot was due, and she doesn't understand why my period is taking so long since I only had one shot, but I have learned that it doesn't matter how many shots you get it can still take 3-12 months to get your period back. She asked about if there is any pregnancy symptoms, and I told her yes because sometimes my breast are sore, bloating, cravings, heavy disscharge and I have had an inceadent were my vagina hurt really bad, she said that she had the vagina problem once when she was pregnant, and it feels like the vagina is stretching, but I also had to tell her that those are also signs of a period wanting to come, but she is convenced that I am pregnant. I told her that If I haven't started by July I would take a test, and if I was I would be happy about it.
What do u think?

the health of the pregnancy if there is one will be BETTER if you know early on. If you are you need vitamins and a doctor. Don't let this go until July. A home test can be taken now in the morning with your 1st pee. It CAN take a very long time to get a regular cycle after the shot. ALSO I know women who got pregnant right after they missed a shot. GOOD LUCK. If the test is - then keep waiting on a period. You need to know to have a healthy pregnancy as soon as possible if there is a bun in the oven.

I was on the depo 9 years and got my period back within 7 days of missing my shot.

I would take a test today, just for kicks , especially if you have been having unprotected sex. Get a two pack, if the first comes out negative, take another with your first pee in the AM.

Good luck to you. Everyone told me it would be forever for me to get pregnant, it was only 5 months, so it is very possible for you too!

it takes me anywhere from 5-8 months to get my period back after depo no matter how many shots I have had. If you have had sex since the shot was supposed to be out of your system than it is a smart idea to take the test just in case so that you know how to proceed. But I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

I was on the depo shot for a little while, it worked like a charm, and never screwed with my period though, but everyone is different.. I think you're handling it rather well, although it seems like she kind of wants you to be pregnant, but if you wanna get her off your back sooner, I would take the test sooner..

I think you are probably not pregnant, but the only way to tell is by taking a test. Also, I think there is a warning on the home pregnancy tests about getting false readings if you've recently been on hormonal birth control, so I'd suggest having your ob/gyn take a blood test to be absolutely sure. Good luck and if you are, congratulations!

i think your right, all the symptoms are the same as period pains if your nipples have milk ducts then maybe u are pregnant, just take a test and show it to her then you will both know the truth. remember things like missing shots or stopping the pill automatically can stop your period coming for up to 12 months back but you already know that. but u never know for sure without that test.

Take a test sooner. And if she still isn't convinced take her to the doctor and have he/or she explain the side effects of the depo shot to your step-mom.

it can take up to 18 mos after depo to get your period back, but if you have been having unprotected sex than you could be pregnant. My best advice is to just take a test.

WHY WAIT
buy a test from a 99cent store
do it now

WHY ARE YOU PUTTING IT OFF?
if you wait too long and you actually are pregnant the baby is of a viable age and there is no choice but to have the baby
IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?

I've never taken any form of Birth control,so I don't know about that Your step mom probably never had that kind of birth control, and she's just worried..But if it will ease your mind take one, they are under $ 20 .It could go either way ,I hope you get what you want . Best wishes, Miss Molly
